Describe a piece of art. You should say: What it is Where you saw it What it looked like And explain how you feel about it.
One of my favourite pieces of art is called “There Is Always Hope”. It was done by a very well-known street graffiti artist Banksy. “There Is Always Hope” is one of his most iconic pieces. The words are written just behind a young girl, who can be seen reaching for a balloon in the shape of a heart. Much of what Banksy paints has an on the surface meaning.
It is this obvious and straightforward message that possibly attracts the majority of his admirers. But it is the deeper meanings behind his art that causes us to look at his work with something akin to awe. So regardless of how the viewer interprets the image itself, Banksy gives us all hope with four simple words: There is always hope. Although simple, it is an image that seems to draw the viewer in again and again. |
