1. Describe a neighbor

    The neighbor I have been living next door for almost 1 year is a warm-hearted girl, who is three years older than I. she has a well-proportioned body as well as dewy eyes. I still remember the first time she introduced herself to me and helped me to move in.

   Being a history teacher in a high school, she has broad and profound knowledge which I admire most. Moreover, she has a large amount of books. Whenever I want to borrow some books from her, she is always willing to recommend me several classics she has read. She is not only my good neighbor but also a good friend whom I can rely on. If I am puzzled in my life, I will definitely ask for her advice. For instance, one day night, I was confused of my future career plan and needed her opinions, she said definitely that I should persist in my major if I had passion in it and gave me great courage to continue the right direction.

    Additionally, she is a good cook and always invites me to taste her new try that is really yummy. I feel so lucky to have this neighbor.

2. Describe a song that is important to you

    Well, a song that means a lot to me is Mom is the best in the world, which was taught by my mother when I just learned how to speak. At that time, I can only imitate the rhythm instead of understanding the meaning of lyrics. However, after I learned it again in a musical class in the primary school, I was suddenly enlightened and burst into tears, which frightened my teacher and asked what was wrong with me. But I shook my head and said I was OK and only missed my mother.

    The song described the importance of owning mother. If we have mother, we will be a treasure and have endless happiness. If not, we will be a straw and cannot find happiness anywhere. It is moving as well as instructive.

    The song is easy to learn and almost every one can sing it. Whenever I hear this song, it will undoubtedly well up my eyes with tears. I feel so appreciative to have my mother taking good care of me and standing by my side all the time. This song tells everyone to cherish the love of mother and this kind of love will never ask for something in return. Maybe that is the reason why it never fades out as time goes by.

3.Describe a style of relaxation

   Nowadays, more and more people are keen on a tour, especially going hiking, which has always been regarded as a style of relaxation. I, without exception, also like climbing.

   After a week’s high-intensive work or study, we need to find a way to release pressure and replenish spirit. And being part of the landscape is the best choice. We just need one or two days to be far away from the city and pack up small things and enjoy the trip of exploring the nature. Maybe it sounds tiring for someone, but after you try it, you will find the benefits and surprise. It is different from adventure of climbing high, remote mountains, which won’t take any risks. The importance of climbing lies in the process of getting close to the destination and the appreciation of nature all the way. There being no pollution, we can take a deep breath to empty our mind, to temporarily forget the vexation and tension of work or study, and to recall the wonderful past. What is more, we can see the beautiful scenery to relieve eye strain and fatigue, and listen to birds singing. After we get to the summit, the panorama instantly broadens our mind and heart as well. At that time, all the troubles are left behind. Thus, it is definitely a good choice to relax.

4. Describe a book that you read

    A book that I have read a zillion times is called Pride and Prejudice, which is a novel written by Jane Austen. I find much of this story very touching and instructive. Although it is set at the turn of the 19^th century, it remains a fascination for modern readers. Moreover, it has become one of the most popular novels in English literature and receives considerable attention from literary scholars.

    The story follows the main characters Elizabeth and Darcy. Elizabeth is intelligent and attractive but tends to judge on first impression. Darcy is handsome and wealthy but rather antisocial. He makes a poor impression on strangers but is valued by those who know him well. Throughout the progression of the plot, Darcy and Elizabeth are forced to be in each other’s company, and their relationship is ultimately decided when Darcy overcomes his pride and Elizabeth overcomes her prejudice, leading to them both surrendering to the love they have for each other.

    I love this book because it vividly depicts the relation between money and marriage at her time, especially the first sentence in this book, which reads：“It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. However, Asten shows a different view that Elizabeth pursues her love without considering money.

5.Describe a famous person

    Well, I’d like to talk about a male film star: Ge You, who is one of the best actors in China. He had been very famous since I was a primary school student.

    He embarked on a new career in films after several successful TV series, which brought his fame onto a new stage. Till now, he has won many awards. For example, in 1993 he earned the award of best actor in the Baihua Award and the Golden Rooster Award. In 1994, he again had the award of best actor in the Festival De Cannes.

    Although he is not as handsome as most other actors, instead, the prominent feature of his appearance is his bald head, this gives his career a great advantage because he plays in comedies most of the time, which adds a humorous element to his acting. In addition, he is a very gifted actor. Maybe he inherits part of his talent from his father for his father is also a good actor. He believes that a truly excellent actor is capable of every character and is very strict with himself. He has tried nearly all kinds of characters: thief, gangster, taxi-driver, etc. all of which are vividly illustrated by him. His talent is acknowledged by the whole society and therefore he is regarded by nearly every household as the one who can represent the acting quality of China.
