People in these three countries put most of their waste into landfilling sites, with the British landfilling 65% of their waste, and Italians and Spanish people burying 40% of their waste.

In the UK, however, only 3% of waste is incinerated, making it the least popular option there. As for chemical treatment, all four countries manage a similar proportion of waste in this way, with figures ranging from 15% to 18%.
