最近,有同学问了我这样一道题“Describe a time when you had to use your imagination. ”,我就想起了之前帮朋友脑暴写电影剧本的时候,真是将我的想象力发挥到了极 致。我们从下午两点一直工作到凌晨三点,真的累坏了。但是,那对我来说是一次挑战,也是一次难忘的经历。

  想象力是一件很神奇的东西,它可以拥有无限的力量,给你无限的空间让你去充分发挥自己。各位同学,请在还能做梦的年纪尽情地去发挥你们的想象力吧。

I remember this one time one of my friends asked me to help him come up with a movie idea in just one day so he can meet a deadline. Basically, he was a producer for a Chinese film company and they are looking for ideas for the next movie project. He really wanted to win the project so he submitted his own movie idea to the boss. Unfortunately, his proposal was rejected but the boss thought the idea was interesting but needed more work.

He then begged his boss for another chance and the boss agreed to give him one more day to come up with a better story and more interesting ending. Since I have studied screenwriting in university and writing is my hobby, he came to me and asked if I would be interested in co-writing the screenplay. But when he asked me on that day, it was already 2 p.m. in the afternoon. But I decided to help him as I thought it would be fun to put my writing ability up for a challenge.

So we decided to go to a coffee shop to work on it. After several hours, we didn’t make a lot of progress. He felt like we didn’t have enough creative juice and needed alcohol since all famous writers drink and smoke. So we went to a bar and started drinking and writing at the same time. Amazingly, ideas started to flow and we actually finished the synopsis around 3 a.m. when the bar closed. We were both dead tired but he managed to email our work to his boss. Unfortunately, the idea still got rejected as the company decided to go with a bigger writing team. But for me, I realized that meeting deadline isn’t probably a very good idea for a job that requires creativity and imagination.
