    It is clear that Belgium and Italy consistently spent more on health compared with other two countries. Belgium’s spending rose steadily from €5,000 in 2006 to a peak of €6,000 in 2009, before dropping sharply to to €3900 in 2012. This was followed by a slight increase to €4000 by 2014. Similarly, Italy experienced a gradual growth from €2900 to €4500 during the same period. After overtaking Belgium’s spending in 2012, Italy became the highest spender among the four countries.

Likewise, Iceland also experienced a modest rise from €2000 to €3000 in the first six years, after which this figure leveled off until 2013.
