Describe an important poem or letter or story your have written.

It is good for first year students to live in the same dorms with senior students. Agree or disagree?

4. Strategic alliance. 这个概念就是说两家公司行程一种联盟或者partnership，能够用各个公司的资源和专长进入市场，增加profits。给的例子是两家公司，一家生产巧克力，一家生产…，两家公司联盟，新的公司生产巧克力that cover …, 结果it sold very well, 是一个很大的success.
5. 男的问题：哥们儿乔迁，打算送个bookcase，但是哥们儿家里太空了然后拼完bookcase后发现少了一块儿。找店家换但是店家说要隔一段时间才能replace。解决1，过一段时间再给哥们儿送。解决2另外买一个。
6. 生物的adaptation，有两种类型，教授举了两种海洋生物作为例子来说明这两种adaptation。

4. 阅读：referential alarm calls，说的是动物碰到天敌时会发出讯号警告同伴，而且碰到不同的天地会发出不同的讯号。听力：教授举例，一种飞中的哺乳动物meerkat，大部分时间在地底下生活，但是会冒出地面找食物，她们有两种天敌，一个是天上的大鸟，一个是地上的蛇。Meerkat碰到大鸟会发出很大声的警告，同伴听到就会跑回地底下，等到大鸟离开再出来，但碰到蛇时，会发出另外一种声音，同伴们听到就会汇聚在一起，把蛇吓跑。

1. If your high school has after-school activities, which activities would you like to choose?
2. In the future, people will read less books, agree or disagree?
3. 学校要建新的art building,可以have larger classroom, 还有high tech machine, 女生喜欢。因为classroom小学生想上课但是上不去，她说自己想去chinese art class，可是班级小只能去15个人，所以她没进去。然后第二是她没有high tech machine的时候painting 跟石膏都很blur，看不清楚details，可是一束的excellence主要在details上。
4. 鸟要吃虫子，可是虫子是绿的，叶子也是绿的，所以鸟就吃得少，可是后来鸟在虫子身上发现了她们的特别的几号，比如虫子身上有别的颜色的条纹。所以既然已经知道了怎么找虫子了就找得很快了，然后抓几条留着以后吃。
5. 女的有问题，她要参加summer courses但是没钱。一去图书馆做临时工，二早宿舍自己做饭，比食堂的省钱，虽然样式没那么多。
6. Old people相关。要打猎，要吃肉，后来就开始圈养。有两好处。一是随时随地可以吃肉，例子goat，圈养起来就可以available have meat.二是拿到其它的product，举例goat，可以弄到milk，然后做成酸奶和cheese，并且可以储存起来留着以后吃。

1. 说说你visit过的两个城市的不同。
2. 学校在小学阶段就教学生用电脑，你同意还是不同意。
3. 阅读：学校通知要resident advisor去培训新来的RA，之前的advisor都是学校的教职工做培训，现在要改成担任过advisor的学生给新加入的培训。女生同意，1她做过advisor，这样可以把她的经验介绍给新的advisor，有助于解决roommate的conflict；2是因为开学会有很多学生move in, housing staff会很忙，有助于帮助dormitory分配房间。
4. 阅读：生物通过相互合作完成工作。举例leaf cutter ants。分三步，首先一部分ants负责从树上把树叶弄下来，其次一部分负责把掉下来的树叶cut秤能运回nest的小份；最后一部分把切好的树叶运回去。
5. 一男的想把notes还给tina，因为她要用，在约好的时间地点没看到tina，打tina电话又不接。女孩子建议：1放tina宿舍，男的说兼职工作会迟到。2通过campus mail，然后给tina手机留言，但是男生说怕tina下午才能收到笔记来不及复习。
6. Barriers for new business。1.financial barrier: new business需要买器材之类的，但是这些器材在earn money之前是无法cover的。例子，开一个健身房，需要花钱买健身器材。2customer loyalty: make customers stop by your business。例子，如果在你开的健身房附近已经有一个健身房了，如何让顾客来你的健身房。

3. 关于医学院安排假期intern-ship的通知，女的觉得it’s great news, 1. 可以让学生知道自己毕业是有有办法handle；2. 学校课业很重，每天都独到很晚，三个月实习不用每天focus在学校课业。
4. sociology中的diversion技术，reading讲了什么是diversion。lecture，professor讲了个例子，电视节目上A,B讨论关于政府投资建公园的事情，A反对花钱建公园，B，不提钱的事情只是说公园多好多好举了好多例子，然后把观众的注意力转移，因为钱是大家敏感的，这就是diversion技术。
5. 男孩子牙痛。解决1，明天去看医生，但他有一门课好差，已经约了人去复习，time conflicts。解决2. 那医院的人说紧急的话，可以去另一间30分钟车程的牙医诊所，他不知道路，不知道怎么解决。
6. 讲了2种处理工厂放出来的 carbon dioxide的方式。让你复述。也不难，一种是in factory，讲了一个process，一种是out of factory，就是在厂子周围多种树。

3. 学校有一个通知，提供大四记者专业的学生到真正的报社实习,可以抵一个大肆的课程。女生统一，自己也想去，因为可以写文章，和real editor一起工作，还可以不用去上课。

The university is offering new internship opportunity to journalism student.

And the woman thinks it is great.

First, student will gain professional skills through this experience, and also this experience looks good on resume.

Second, final course doesn't have regular schedule for student to attend.

4. 教授在大学时是好学生，有一天他的教授布置了十页的paper，他认为他很快可以写完，所以提前一天开始写，到了图书馆，借了书，发现材料不够用，再去图书馆时，已经关门了，所以只能迟交作文，结果得了很低的分，虽然他教授觉得他的内容很好。

Planning fallacy. Fail to consider all the possible factors that affect the project and lead to the inaccuracy in estimate the time that cost to complete then lead to bad consequences.

5. The man can't find his camera before his trip to Spain. He can either buy a new one(但是钱不够), or borrow one from his friend Jake(不想这样，女生说万一broken或者stolen就不好了).

6. 两个动物为什么可以在激流中保持不动。Mechanism that animal use to survive from water current. One is attainment, black fly larva. 因为有hand&hook，所以可以touch the bottom of river. The second is splince (音译)，因为有thick body, sculpin.

3. 是讲一个学校推出了一个新的announcement给freshman, Biology department. 说学生一起学习(group study）可以best know the equipment and improve academic study, and in addition, can meet and make new friends. However, in the conversation, the girl said the study group sort of thing doesn’t help. Because people have their own way to study, expect those who don’t know how to study. So she prefers to work alone. The second point is that she thinks that if people in the same department, they will have class together, so they eventually will meet each other. So you don’t really need to go to the study group.
4. 讲的是货币的形式, 说的是1, 货币是coin and paper bonds. 例子是如果你坐出租车, 你付给driver的是钱.还有一种方式是以物易物, 说一个农夫坐出租车, 他可以给司机他的农产品, 如果司机同意了, 那这个时候农产品就是钱.但是, 政府规定了我们现在使用种方式.
5. 首先, 一个男人说, he works in the bookstore in college. His job is to carry heavy box which contains books. However, last week he went to help his friend to move to the new apartment. He injured himself. Doctor said that he can’t carry heavy things for a month. So he went back to talk to his boss, his boss offered him a job to be a cashier in bookstore, however, the schedule for cashier only opens in the morning. He has a physic group study at that time. The physic group is important to him coz he improved grade OOXX. So he went to find a dish washer job in cafeteria which fits his schedule. However, if he takes the job in cafeteria, he won’t have the discount to buy books in bookstore, which saved him a lot every semester....
   所以最后他还是没结论...
6. 讲的是solidarity的问题, 说这个社会有2个方式, 一个是所有人都一起工作, 所以share the same experience, challenge OOXX. 举了个例子是famer 说他们一起工作OOXX     然后另一个方式是 each individuals in the society depends on each other 举了个例子是说在town里有老师... 各种各样的工作, 这些人都是一起工作, 大家depends on each other.

重点8

1. 学校流行什么样式的衣服，你喜欢什么，为什么？
2. 喜欢用洗碗机还是亲手洗完，为什么？
3. 学生写信给radio center，要求放less-known的歌曲，可以为学校吸引更多学生，另学生会因为不熟悉歌曲，听到后就会去找演奏者资料，有助于学习。学生同意。
4. Founder effect。（WIKI百科有）。教授举例，一种指物在大陆种子很大，当一小群飘扬过海到小岛行程小群落后，就演化成小种子的形态了。
5. 女生说很多学生上课都带电脑，她们都在寄email或者上网做不相干的事情，干扰到她的学校。男方法1，请教授重申电脑只能用来当作做笔记用的规定，可是很awkward。2，坐到排，就不会被干扰了，可是这样下课吃午饭的时候会在最后面出教室，后门很挤。
6. 两种方法可以增加销售量。1是广告，因为很多顾客都不知道他们的产品很好，所以可以用广告推销手段，比如玩具有助于小孩子记数字，公司就可以做个广告宣扬这个研究。2是提供分期付款，让付不起前的人分一年逐段付清。

4. information bias： When people make decisions, they always think they need more information than they really do. For example, the professor's friend wanted to hire an assistant a few years ago, they found a great candidate at the beginning, he thought he was so experienced. However, he also interviewed some other people after that, when he called the first candidate, he already had another job, and so the professor's friend could not hire that person.

6. 大概就是说两种方法减少对大自然的破坏。种是不要让人们踩踏植物。 第二种是限制旅游人数。 比如让导游带着小旅行团。每天限制导游的数量。

2. 历史数据什么的不需要背诵了，网上都有。同意还是不同意。
3. 学校宿舍楼要每周组织活动，为提高业余文化生活，第二让住在同一宿舍楼的学生更好的互相认识，男生不同意，学生不能都在同一时间有时间，第二平时在lounge大家都能碰面，不用非得通过组织这个活动来互相认识，没必要

6. 讲类似加盟店之类的，说有两个draw backs，个是总公司让各个分店没有创新的空间，举例子说比如加盟饭店，总公司规定了菜单之类的东西，分店想加某个创新菜就不符合规定。第二个是，一个分店的声誉影响着其他分店。还是饭店的例子，一个饭店脏，那么人们就会觉得其他分店也这样

2. Some people like to buy new but expensive books while others prefer to buy old but cheap ones. Which would you prefer？
3. 阅读：

学校要弄一个新的mentoring program, 是let fourth grade student to mentor first year students。有两个好处：

(1) to help 1st year student，help 1st year student adapt to college life more quickly, because senior students know much more than the freshmen；

(2) to help 1st year student to know some senior students to expand social connection。

听力：

woman同意这个plan，理由有二：

(1) 大一的都不知道，比如说schedule change，building location，他们都不知道，所以有个人能deliver those information的话会很有帮助；

(2) 他大一的时候认识的人都是大一的或者住在一起的很局限，能认识更多不同年级的人的话会更好。

4. 阅读：心理现象：如果说一个人觉得另一个人有用的话，或者说对那个人的成功有帮助的话会有比较好的印象

听力：教授举了一个例子说卖office equipment的公司，sales groups。他们的奖金跟sales有很大的关系，分成两组：组人就直接看了，看完以后实验的人问他们什么感想？他们啥感想也没，对那个人没印象；第二组的人看完以后比较focus on personality，并且对他有比较好的印象都觉得这个人很qualified, 会成为一个很好的销售人员。

5. 女生要完成商科的paper：采访一个magazine的创始人，为了学习关于how to start up business, the businessman called to cancel the interview because he has to attend a last-minute conference and will not be able to be back（out of town了） until next week。解决方法有二：(1)wait for that person to come until next week，但会给那个女生less time to write paper；(2)interview another person from the list given by the professor，但是area会不一样，女生对那个magazine很感兴趣。

6. 某种种植crop rotation的方式有什么优势，一是保存营养物质restore the nutrients in soil，Wheat uses up nitrogen, planting bean will restore nitrogen；二是清除害虫decrease insects. Some insects eat wheat, planting beans reduces this kind of insects.

4. 讲joint venture.一个公司和一个公司合作创立第三个公司，平分利润。

听力老师用个一个TV 公司想要build一个网站post the news 但是他们没有高人帮他们弄网站，就找了一帮高人有着很强电脑技能，to design and maintain the website. they will provide the news. the profit made by third company is advertisement in the website, they 平分利润。

5. 一个二b女生show优越，说老师给他extra week to finish his research paper,  he do not know what to do.1 solution is to live with parents ,which is two hour away from the campus and hard to get the school resource 而且他们妹妹们要挑逗他说话，distracting her。2live near the campus, 但是房租好贵。我认为第二个好，钱什么的都是浮云啊，学习最重要的啊。
6. 讲小动物们都喜欢成群结队出去玩去保护自己，捕食他们的动物有两个方法去吃他们。1）找到一个有着不一样颜色的小动物，然后定位他，就吃他。例子是memo神马的 someone in the group will have unique color from others, the predator will go after him.2）他们还会把这些group break up, 然后小动物们紧张了，逃跑了，队伍就散了，然后捕食者就找一个group 去追神马啊。
