1、有什么办法可以缓解交通压力？What can we do to alleviate traffic tension?

Since transportation and automobile industries boom so rapidly，congestions take place rather frequently than ever before, which lays great pressure on the traffic. People find it to be quite crowded and jammed, especially when they hurry to get somewhere trying to be on time. The transportation is just like a pipe and excessive solids would block it. Similarly the solutions could be to broaden the streets and limit the number of vehicles. However, by simply broadening the streets, the traffic situation still will be compromised by more cars. Therefore, advocating people to take public vehicle and drive private cars less frequently can be an effective and efficient solution.（赵刚）

As far as I am concerned, there are two solutions to alleviate traffic tension. On the one hand, the government should encourage people to use public transport such as bus and subway by reducing their fares, especially during rush hour, so that more people would glad to use them, considering the high gas price if they use their personal cars.

On the other hand, car-pooling is another good alternative to reduce traffic congestion through the sharing of cars with colleagues or friends to travel to workplaces or schools instead of driving their own, which can cut down the number of vehicles on the road effectively as well as save the money and time.（赵瑾璟）

As more cars take to the roads each year gradually, traffic congestion is expected to get much worse in the future. Charging people for driving on busy roads at peak periods is a good way to achieve its reduction. If individual need to pay for driving during peak periods, it would motivate them to find less congested routes into town .Another possibility solution would be added express lanes to highways during rush hours, which would greatly diminish traffic congestion. This encourages the method of carpooling and people to use public transportation, it will also save on gas and pollution with mass transit. （童璇）

2、政府资助帮助动物的项目好还是个人来做？Is it better for the government to fund a project to help animals or for individuals to help them?

Personally speaking I recommend the former. People in China will hesitate if they should raise large-sized dogs, because registering the ID for the dog can cost a lot. The policy is made by the government of course, so we can see the support or restrain from the authority will to a large degree influence the people’s decision making. Due to the decisive influence of the government, the animal protection project should be put forward and carried out by the government. It is easier to raise money and implement. Reversely, if the project is run by individual, more public relation work should be done, including recruiting those who share the same target, applying for government’s permission, convincing private investors and so on. As a probable result, the project cannot bring a favorable sum of money. In comparison, government is obviously the optimal choice. （赵刚）

In my view, I would prefer the government’s grants for animals because these animal-related organizations can raise a large amount of money to help rescue and rehabilitate animals to preserve their status in nature effectively, which are huge programs and cannot be done just by individuals. Therefore, the government has the responsibility to take good care of animals because the society may be disharmonious without animals.

In addition, personal ability is feeble, we can help a wandering dog by adopt it at home, but we cannot adopt all the dogs or cats, which needs a vast number of money. It is very hard to raise enough funds even with the donations from sponsors and the public. However, the government can quickly contribute money to helping these organizations and aid animals in time.（赵瑾璟）

As we know, animals are core to our national identity, resource of tourism income and sometimes are adopted as logos for our sporting teams. They provide us with recreation, assistance, health and ecological services, and so on. Because animal control reflects the social expectation, such as public health, public safety, the use of education, so it is good for the government to take this responsibility. For government control, the benefit is that animals have greater wellbeing and through improved levels of care and management. The government will clearly identify how the measure and management undertaken will deliver results, and will bring the effective resources to achieve the public aims. （童璇）
