一看到母校，就将其直译为“mother school”，这是典型的中式英语。不能说成“mother school”，能不能说成“former school”呢？当然也不行！我们一般将“母校”译为“alma mater”，这个词源自拉丁语，意思是表示“养育生育的母亲”，现在多用来形容“母校”和“高校的校歌”，如果你记不住的话，也可以用“old school”来表示母校，同样正确。
