工资关乎打工人的生存问题，所以特别引人关注，找工作第一眼看的也是工资，2-3k，4-5k，6-7k......那么问题来了，为什么工资用“千”表示，“千”的英文明明是"thousand"，缩写为什么不是“t” ，而是“k”？
    “k”是我们熟悉的“kilo” 的缩写， “kilo” 是数量单位里的“千”，"kilometer(千米)""kilogram(千克)”。“k” 之所以被广泛使用，主要是老外不用“万”来做单位，大部分人的工资都是以“k” 为单位，例如月入1万写作“10k”。
    关于工资的英文，很多人第一时间会想到很多单词 “salary” “wage” “pay” “income”,这几个词有什么区别呢？

    “薪酬”的英文表达
    salary一般指非体力劳动者所得的“工资”、“薪水”通常按月、有时按年计算。比如白领每月领的工资。
    例：Most of my salary goes on the rent.
    我大部分工资都花在房租上了。
    wage一般指简单劳动或体力劳动者所得的工资、工钱通常按周、日等短期计算发给。比如做兼职每天领的薪水
    例：
    The real wage of the average worker has increased by a factor of over ten in the last 70 years.
    近70年来工人的实际工资平均增长超过了十倍。
    pay作名词表示：工资，薪水,不管是 "日薪" "时薪" "月薪" "年薪" 都属pay，同时涵盖了salary和wage。
    例：The report recommended a 10% pay increase.
    报告提议工资增加10%。
    income意思是“收入”，不强调途径，只要是得到的钱都可以称为收入。
    例：Loan repayments are pegged to your income.
    分期付还贷款按你的收入计算。

    “发工资”的英文表达
    It's payday = 今天发工资了 / 今天是发薪日
    例：To a disturbingly large extent, the young and the broke are relying on credit cards to make it until their next payday.
    令人不安的是，在很大程度上，年轻人和破产者在下一个发薪日之前都在依赖信用卡度日。
    领工资= get paid
    例：She didn't get paid much but it was all good experience.
    她得到的报酬虽然不高，但有极好的体验。
    pay raise 加薪
    例：The first thing I'm going to do when I get a pay raise is to treat you to dinner.
    加工资后我要做的第一件事就是请你吃饭。

    pay off  还清，偿清（债务）；取得成功，得到好结果
    I need to pay off all my debts before I leave the country.
    我得在离开该国前偿清所有债务。

    例：She paid her way through college by working part-time.
    她靠兼职打工读完了大学。
    pay peanuts  薪水微薄
    例：They pay peanuts for such a demanding job.
    这么辛苦的工作，他们给的薪水少得可怜。（这就是“操着卖白粉的心，拿着卖白菜的钱）
    pay the piper  付出代价
    例：
    She wasted many materials owing to mismanagement, so now she must pay the piper.
    由于管理不善，她浪费了大量物资，所以现在她必须承担后果。
